The network

Over 1,000 drone pilots in our network. We take care of the vetting so you don’t have to.

Every drone pilot is Part 107 certified, insured, and equipped for the specific work we send them. Our proprietary matching algorithm takes care of the heavy lifting so you’re always matched with the perfect pilot for the job.

Before a pilot flies for you

We vet and verify our drone pilots

Each one is checked against a source outside the application itself.

  1. 01

    FAA certificate

We read the certificate number and confirm it against the FAA registry. A photo of a certificate isn't enough on its own.

  2. 02

    Insurance

$1M liability that explicitly names unmanned aircraft operations. General business coverage gets rejected.

  3. 03

    Identity and business

Identity verified through a provider check, and the business confirmed as registered and active in Florida.

  4. 04

    Equipment

Aircraft and camera specs on record. A pilot can't be sent thermal work without a thermal payload registered.

  5. 05

    Actual work

We look at their portfolio for exposure, horizon control, and consistency. This is the step most applications fail.

We monitor the important details

Certificates lapse and policies expire. A network that verifies at signup and never again is a network of unverified pilots two years later.

  • Expiry dates are tracked automatically

Reminders go out at 30, 14, and 3 days before an insurance or certificate lapse.

  • Lapsed means no work, same day

If a document expires, that pilot stops receiving offers until it's current. It's a built-in safety feature to protect both you and our pilots.

  • Pilot performance is frequently reviewed

Ratings, rework rate, and reliability are reviewed continuously. Repeat problems lead to a conversation, then a suspension.

We carry the risk

A shoot can still come back wrong. Fixing it is our problem, not yours.

  • Your contract is with PhotoDrone, not the pilot. We handle the incidentals, not you.
  • We review every file before you see it, and send back the ones that miss the brief
  • If a pilot can't finish, we re-dispatch rather than refunding you and walking away
  • One place to complain, and a dedicated support team to address any concerns

What we don’t do

Being clear about the limits is part of being trustworthy.

We don't let you pick a pilot
Choosing from profiles sounds like control, but it slows dispatch and makes vetting your responsibility. Our matching algorithm finds the perfect pilot for your job requirements.
We don't employ them
Our pilots are independent operators with their own businesses and insurance. We guarantee the standard of the work.
We don't certify structures
Inspection work documents what's visible from the air. It isn't an engineering opinion, and the quote says so.
