The whole policy in four lines

  • We collect what a job needs: your contact details, the job-site address, and the files.
  • We don't sell any of it, and we don't share it for advertising.
  • Your pilot sees a general area until they accept. Only then do they see your name and address.
  • Ask us to delete your account and the personal data goes within 30 days.

3.1What we collect

PhotoDrone collects account details (name, email, telephone number, billing address), job details (job-site address, access instructions, scope and scheduling information), delivered imagery and associated flight metadata, payment tokens held by our payment processor, and standard service logs. Operators additionally provide credential, insurance and equipment records necessary to verify eligibility to fly.

3.2How we use it

Personal data is processed to quote, schedule, perform and bill for jobs, to verify operator eligibility, to handle disputes, and to meet legal and insurance obligations. PhotoDrone doesn't sell personal data, doesn't share it with advertising networks, and doesn't use delivered imagery to train third-party models.

3.3Disclosure to operators

Job offers presented to operators disclose the general area, scope and payment only. The customer's name, exact address and access instructions are released to a single operator on acceptance of the offer, and are withdrawn if the assignment is released or reassigned. Direct telephone contact between operator and customer is routed through a masked relay, and the underlying number isn't disclosed.

3.4Third parties and imagery of others

Aerial imagery may incidentally capture neighboring property or persons. Operators are instructed to frame the commissioned job site, to avoid deliberate capture of adjacent private space, and to refuse instructions to the contrary. PhotoDrone will remove incidentally captured material from delivered files on request from an identifiable subject where removal is technically possible.

3.5Retention and your rights

Job records are retained for seven (7) years for tax and insurance purposes. Delivered imagery is retained for two (2) years by default so that customers can re-download it, and may be deleted earlier on request. Account deletion removes personal data within thirty (30) days, excluding records we're required to keep. Requests for access, correction, export or deletion go to privacy@photodrone.com and are answered within thirty (30) days.
